|
The 59 th season of the Purdue University North Central Sinai Forum continues on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. at Elston Middle School in Michigan City with “An Afternoon With Brian Lamb” featuring the noted historian and television icon who is the founder and former chairman and CEO of C-SPAN.
The 2012 season is sponsored by the Franciscan Alliance Northern Indiana Hospitals, including Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Michigan City and Crown Point, Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer and Hammond, and Franciscan Physicians Hospital in Munster.
Lamb is a native of Lafayette, Ind., and a graduate of Purdue University. Prior to launching C-SPAN, in 1979, Lamb held communications roles including White House telecommunications policy staffer and Washington bureau chief for Cablevision magazine.
Known for his distinctive style, Lamb has conducted thousands of interviews. While used to speaking with international heads of state and the major players on the international and national political scene, his impartiality and dedication to true news reporting is evidenced by the fact that he has never said his own name on the air and does not discuss his political views.
More than 100 million households invite Lamb and C-SPAN into their homes as a trusted resource for information on key national issues. His unmatched interview style has made him a cable television mainstay and a champion of political bi-partisanship. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
