AMBASSADOR DENNIS ROSS NOV. 9 SINAI FORUM SPEAKER
Westville – The fourth speaker of the 55 th season of the Sinai Forum Presented by Purdue University North Central will be Ambassador Dennis Ross, who will explore “The Complex World of Middle Eastern Policy” on Nov.9 at 3 p.m. at Elston Middle School in Michigan City . Please note the special start time of this program.
For more than 12 years, Ross played a leading role in shaping U.S. involvement in the Middle East peace process, authoring the only peace accords ever implemented in the
region. Ross will delve into the struggle to bring peace to the Middle East, including how to deal with Islamic extremists and how the Israeli-Palestinian crisis relates to Iraq , Iran and the entire Middle East . This appearance is sponsored by The Bankoff Endowment for the Forum.
Ross is considered to be an authority on the Middle East peace process and is able to eloquently explain the complex and multi-layered issues and events that impact the Middle East and the resulting affects on America's future.
He authored the books, “ The Missing Peace – The Inside Story of the Fight for Middle East Peace ,” and “ Statecraft .” In “Statecraft” he explains that the globalized world's fluid borders, terrorist networks and unrest require the use of “statecraft” to assure peace. He suggests that statecraft can check the rise of China and the danger of a nuclear Iran . The book also puts forward how the next president may be able to solve today's problems and define a realistic foreign policy.
