Westville – Purdue University North Central American Sign Language Club will host a Silent Dinner on Monday, Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Culver's Restaurant, 3966 Frontage Road , Michigan City . The event is open to ASL students as well as all community members.
This is a h oliday "Meet & Greet" and participants are asked to use ASL only for conversation and to place orders – a student may translate orders into English for the server or participants may point to the menu or write out an order. Culver's will donate a percentage of all orders placed with those vouchers to the PNC ASL Club. Participants are reminded that they do not need to order a meal in order to attend. The ASL Club members will also be accepting donations for a fundraising effort to sponsor a deaf child attending a deaf camp this summer.
