PNC American Sign Language Club Silent Coffee Events

Westville – The Purdue University North Central American Sign Language Club will host a Silent Coffee House on Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Evelyn Bay Company, 3800 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso.

The event is open to ASL students as well as community members. Children are welcome to attend with their parents or adult. This is a fun, casual event for all to enjoy through participation or as an observer.

Silent Coffee participants are asked to use ASL only for conversation and to place orders – a student may translate orders into English for the server or participants may point to the menu or write out an order.

There will be a fun group activity beginning at 7 p.m.

Future ASL Coffee House dates events will be Fridays Oct. 16, Nov 13 and Dec 11.
