Kanri Nakano - Construction of the Breath

Kanri Nakano is the international entrant to the show. A native of Hokkaido, he received his M.F.A. from Tama Art University. His multi-media pieces are known throughout Japan for their ability to convey Japanese cultural archetypes. His work, entitled "Construction of the Breath," was created in 1998 and is constructed of steel and limestone. It was built at Middlebrook Center for the Arts in Three Oaks, Michigan.
