Students Receive Awards, Scholarships at PU/NC Honors Conv

WESTVILLE - Scholarships and awards were presented to 60 Purdue University North Central students and two future students at the annual Honors Convocation, held Friday, April 14, at the campus. The speaker for the event was Prof. Barbara Lootens, associate professor of English who is retiring this year after 35 years' association with the university. Musical entertainment was provided by Donna Hirt, vocalist, and Lisa Schwingendorf, pianist.

Award recipients included:

During the award ceremony, a memorial tribute was paid to three individuals who passed away during the past year: student Billy Newland, Student Support Services counselor Tom Lucas, and retired professor of biology Dr. Clyde Porter.
