DATE: January 16, 2001 Contact: Joy Banyas, ext. 5267 PNC Will Hold Books & Coffee Series in January & February WESTVILLE - As an antidote to winter doldrums, Purdue University North Central is inaugurating a "Books & Coffee" series to be held over a six-week period in January and February. The programs which are free and open to the public, will be held on Tuesday afternoons in PNC's Library-Student-Faculty Lounge. Refreshments will be served beginning at 4 p.m. with the review at 4:30 p.m., followed by a discussion period. This year's selections include: Tuesday, January 23: "The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling," reviewed by Dr. Teresa Henning, assistant professor of English. Tuesday, January 30: "Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton-Porter," reviewed by Prof. Robert Mellin, visiting assistant professor of English. Tuesday, February 6: "Six Sigma: The Breakthrough Management Strategy Revolutionizing the World's Top Corporations by Mikel Harry and Richard Schroeder," reviewed by Dr. Tom Brady, Jr. assistant professor of industrial engineering technology. Tuesday, February 13: "The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison," reviewed by Marion Whitlow, professor emerita of nursing. Tuesday, February 20: "Valparaiso (play) by Don DeLillo," reviewed by Dr. Jesse Cohn, assistant professor of English.
