Redefining the Commuter Campus
The Purdue University North Central campus sits on 268 acres in Westville, IN, and has a current student enrollment of over
6,000 students. More and more students maintain a full-time class load, and the average age continues to decrease—evidence
that PNC is fast becoming the university of choice among area high school students.
PNC has an unwavering commitment to academic distinction, providing students with the opportunity to receive a prestigious Purdue University degree while enjoying small classes and personal attention. PNC offers a variety of academic options, including bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Student enrollment continues to grow at a record-setting pace with total credit hours increasing at an even greater rate. To meet this increasing demand, PNC is proud to be supported by distinguished faculty. PNC seeks to provide the total college experience for its students, including on-campus activities and stellar athletic programs.
Impacting the Community
Purdue University North Central is dedicated to serving the community. Ninety percent of students at PNC live in LaPorte, Porter or Starke County, and eighty-five percent of alumni continue to work and reside in the area. They constitute a highly educated, skilled and stable employee base as well as an important source of business and community leaders.
In order to stimulate and advance economic development, PNC assumed a leadership role in forming the LaPorte County Economic Development Alliance among businesses, municipalities and other government entities dedicated to countywide cooperation and collaboration. Additionally, the university is the hub of the region, hosting meetings for dozens of community groups each year.
