Doug Cassell begins his second year as a contracted trainer through La Porte Hospital for Purdue University North Central. Cassell previously volunteered his time for the Purdue North Central softball team for two seasons, but now works with all Panther sports. It is his eighth year as a trainer overall.
Cassell is a member of The Crossing Physical Therapy Group of La Porte Hospital and works in the outreach setting. Along with Purdue North Central, Cassell covers athletic events for La Porte High School while working at The Crossing, La Porte Hospital 's new physical therapy center.
Cassell is a 1999 graduate of the University of Charleston, earning a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Athletic Training. He earned his Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Marshall University (West Virginia) in 2003, where he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.
Prior to his current position, Cassell was previously employed as an intern at Wabash in Crawfordsville, IN, in 2002 and as the Head Athletic Trainer at Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia in 2003.
A native of West Virginia, Cassell resides in La Porte with his wife Jennifer, a native of Los Angeles, CA and a current member of the Panther softball team at Purdue North Central. They are the proud parents of Emily (age 1). |
