Program Assessment using BALOTS

BALOTS is an online assessment reporting tool used by PNC to document assessment for all academic programs.  BALOTS stands for the Boilermaker Accreditation and Learning Outcomes Tracking System.  It was adopted by PNC in 2008 by the Assessment Steering Committee in collaboration with the developers of BALOTS at Purdue West Lafayette.

After several meetings with Assessment Coordinators from each program at PNC, a timeline was developed to assure that all programs would complete the assessment cycle in an appropriate time frame.  The assessment cycle includes: describing learning outcomes, identifying learning and assessment activities for each, reporting findings, suggesting changes for the program based on those findings, and finally, reflecting on those changes.
