If you've ever seen a flash of light while driving through the parking lots during the summer months, not to worry. It's not a comet or meteor – it's Karen Prescott on her lunchtime run around campus. Running is one of her hobbies and she does it faithfully every day.
Karen is coordinator of graphic design and printing and has worked here at PNC for a lucky 13 years. Way back in '91 when Karen began, she was a member of the publications staff, which also included printing services at the time. Karen has witnessed photography dark rooms become a thing of the past and has kept up with the many advancements of computer technology. She now uses a NIKON digital camera and many of you have drooled at the sight of her cool Macintosh computer monitor.
Karen's most memorable PNC moments include cutting herself with an x-acto knife last year and having to call campus police for first aid, then drive to the emergency room. Her other most memorable moment is paling around with football legend Hank Stram at the PNC golf outing.
Karen received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ball State University , where she met her husband, Doug. They now live in Valpo with their sons Mathew (10), Michael (7) and dog Abby (9). Karen's favorite foods include pizza, tomatoes, pretzels, Diet Coke, and Mike's assorted beverages.
During this summer when Karen is not running, you will find her spending time in the garden, cruising with Doug on their Harley, going to White Sox games with the boys, or at home watching her favorite TV shows: Survivor, Fear Factor, and the Sopranos.
