Alumni Profile: Russell Klosinski

Russell KlosinskiWith the exception of 3 years, Russell Klosinski has lived all his life in LaPorte County. He attended Purdue North Central beginning in September 1967 and graduated June 1971. 1967 is when the Westville campus opened at its current location, making him among the first to receive their degree from PNC where it stands today. He received his AS degree in Computer Technology in 1969 and his BS degree in Industrial Supervision in 1971. In addition to his Purdue degrees Mr. Klosinski is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as the Commercial Lending School in Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Klosinski has been with The LaPorte Savings Bank since 1985. He was hired as an Assistant Vice President/Consumer Lending and is currently Executive Vice President/Chief Credit Officer/Cashier. He had more than 12 years of lending experience prior to joining The LaPorte Savings Bank.

Over the years Mr. Klosinski has been heavily involved in community activities including serving as the Past President and current member of the LaPorte Lions club with 30 years of perfect attendance. He is also an Executive board member of the Greater LaPorte Economic Development Corporation, the Greater LaPorte Chamber of Commerce on the Retention and Expansion Committee. He is the Past President and Chairman of the Board at the LaPorte Family YMCA, a past Board member of LaPorte Educational Development Foundation and the LaPorte Economic Advancement Foundation. In July 2010 Mr. Klosinski was welcomed as a new board member of the Purdue North Central Alumni Association.

Mr. Klosinski has been involved in the many activities at Purdue University North Central. The LaPorte Savings Bank has been a proud co-sponsor for PNC’s Martin Luther King celebration breakfast of which he attends; as well as the quarterly legislative updates at PNC cosponsored by the Chambers of Commerce of LaPorte and Michigan City. He also attends the periodic economic briefings held at PNC and participated in a survey used to obtain data.

Mr. Klosinski lives in LaPorte with his wife Ann and is the proud father of 6 children and 11 grand children. His second oldest daughter Karen Klosinski is on faculty at PNC as an Assistant Professor of Nursing.
