S.
Thomas Scarff's Michigan City was previously seen on
Northwestern University's Evanston campus, situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, on a
promontory closest to Michigan City. It is composed of aluminum, steel, and projected light elements. Rainbow Flyer, an energy form frozen in time, combines aluminum, steel and Scarff's signature neon. Scarff is curator-in-residence at Purdue North Central, and curator of this show. His studio is in Chicago's Old Town and he has a home in Michigan City.
